During the planning phase of projects, we encourage measurements to be done multiple times. There are a lot of components that go into your entrance floor mat. If your mat doesn’t fit properly, not only will it look unsightly, but it can also create tripping hazards; with the mat being unable to lie flat or by creating an uneven edge where the mat doesn’t reach.
The “measure twice, cut once” proverb has been around for 100s of years, and it is something that we have heard time and time again, but the lesson still holds true. In a deadline driven industry it is easy to take shortcuts or cut corners, especially when entrance floor mats are typically one of the last items to go into the design process. Planning ahead and putting in the time and effort do things right the first time will end up saving the project in the long run.
